Anakin had invited Ulrik to meet up with him for their Day of Fun and Learning outside of Juliet's preschool, since he was dropping her there anyway.

At 7:30 in the morning.

Look, Anakin was just lucky Ulrik managed to meet him there reasonably on time. Considering this was his first excursion out into the larger up-time world that was not part of a school trip. "Good Morning, Professor," he greeted. "I didn't realize children were required to go to school so young here."

"Oh, its not required," Anakin replied. "We're just trying to socialize her and teach her not to eat glue and lift tables with her mind in public."

"Lift tables with her mind?" Ulrik echoed, raising an eyebrow. Really, you'd think at this point these sorts of revelations shouldn't surprise him, but. They still did.

Anakin nodded. "I'm telekinetic, and Juliet takes after me there, but it's not something that is normal in this reality, so we have to tell her not to do it in public."

"Telekinetic," Ulrik repeated, familiarizing himself with the new word. It was not exactly the sort of thing that had come up during English lessons with Eddie. "Yes, I can see how some might find that- disconcerting."

"It's fairly rare even in Fandom," Anakin replied, giving Juliet a kiss on the head as she ran into her classroom. "Now we have four hours until we have to pick her back up. Normally I go for coffee on the way home. Does that sound okay?"

"I have to admit to having developed a taste for the stuff since arriving up-time," Ulrik shared. "And so it's quite all right with me."

"Do you like normal coffee or the ones that are like dessert?" Anakin asked, heading for the nearest coffee shop (near a cupcake bakery because none of your business).
