Office hours [all day]

Anakin was a father again, which meant that he had to come back to campus with new pictures, pastries, coffee, and an enormous sign to hang from his office door:

IT'S A BOY

He was maybe a little excited. He was calling his family in various dimensions to leave messages, and while he wouldn't be holding office hours for the entire day (Rory would kill him), he was definitely there to meet with anyone who needed an ear to listen, or had a sudden craving for coffee and donuts.

As promised on radio, Jaye was here with a roll of bubble wrap. "I brought you a... babywarming present."

What, it was a protective thing.

Anakin beamed at her. "Excellent! I'm working on a hamster ball for Juliet."

"Is that what happens when they go all mobile? They get hamster balls?" It made sense to her.

[sith_happened]

"It's a little tough on the stairs, but it's worth it for them not getting stitches from smacking their little heads on coffee tables," said the man teaching a class on childcare.

"Tell me this is showing up in class," she said immediately.

[sith_happened]

"Probably," Anakin admitted. "But next week is a children's birthday party."

They were so mean.

"...You're evil. I like it," she decided.

Why were these two allowed to talk?

And because yay spam Once Jaina was able to get to her messages and hear this one, she was calling back. Good thing this happened after her shutdown phase and not during, really.

"Skywalker," Anakin replied promptly, a smile in his voice.

[solo_sword]

"It sound like congratulations are in order," she smiled. Not that he could see that, but she was totally doing it.

"Thank you," Anakin said. "Rory wouldn't let me name him Obi-Wan."

Go figure.

"It'd probably be way too pressurey a name anyway," she said. "What is the name?"

"We're calling him Chris after Rory's father," Anakin replied.

Now that Zayne was nicely settled in at his parent's house with any more offers of revelations being pretty unlikely, he decided to give a call to the man who had to bear his previous messages.

And this time it wouldn't just be a message!

"Skywalker," Anakin replied, flipping his comlink open.

"Hi. It's Zayne. I hope this isn't a bad time," Zayne said, more than a little joyed about not having to leave a message.

"Zayne! Not at all," Anakin said. "How are you?"

"Pretty well. Slightly confused, but it's been a crazy few weeks," Zayne said. "But I'm back at my parents' house now and will definitely be back in Fandom in a couple weeks."

"Does that mean your war is over, then?" Anakin asked.

Zoe was grinning as she peeked into Anakin's office. "I suppose congratulations are in order?" she said. "For Rory, since she's the one who did all the hard work."

"I brought smoothies!" Anakin replied.

Which was a lot like childbirth. Really.

"And thank you. Want to see pictures?"

"Of course," Zoe said. "I wouldn't want to deny you of your chance to brag."

Despite the fact that little Chris looked like just about every other baby--red, silly hat, squished up little nose--Anakin had taken about thirty photos of him on the first day and he proudly handed them over to Zoe.

Zoe completely understood the need to photograph the hell out of a new child, so she wasn't going to judge the number of pictures here. "Awww, he's adorable," she said. "All in working order, I assume?"

"He peed on me this morning."

He wasn't so in love with the new kid to find that adorable.
