Anakin didn't care about the many (many, many, many) dirty looks he'd received at the snail's pace his car had set taking Rory, Juliet and wee baby Christopher home from the hospital today.

He kept double checking the rear-view mirror to make sure everyone in the backseat was strapped into their respective carseats. Christopher was so small. He didn't remember Juliet being that small.

"He's sleeping," Juliet informed him. "Still. It's booooooring."

"Better sleeping than screaming," Anakin replied with a smile, parking the car in front of the apartment. "Welcome home."

"Would you rather your little brother woke up and cried again?" Rory replied as she carefully got out of the car. (It had only been a few days. Walking was still interesting.) "I remember how much you liked that, little miss."

"Loud," Juliet replied disgustedly, covering her hands over her ears.

"I don't know where she gets the dramatics from," Anakin said, shaking his head.

Anakin sometimes thought he was hilarious.

"Definitely my side," Rory said dryly, gently retrieving tiny little Christopher from the car. "Sleepy little Chris obviously takes after you."

What with the dark hair and the quietness and all.

"I do enjoy taking naps, chewing on my hands and staring at nothing," Anakin agreed, getting Juliet unbuckled. "Not in the traffic!" he reminded her for the twenty thousandth time.

"Hey now," Rory corrected, "he is clearly staring at the air particles. His little eyes are just more focused than ours. I read it in one of the baby books."

She, incidentally, was completely lying.

Anakin snorted. "I love you and you very recently gave birth to a large watermelon, but that is poodoo."

"You just didn't read as carefully as I did," Rory assured him.

Anakin leaned in to steal a kiss. "Oh really," he said, reaching down to touch Chris' head while he was there.
