Anakin was putting the final touches on his grades (and despite Jaye's influence, was not giving any of his students a Keen+). He was very carefully not thinking about all of the students who were graduating on Saturday.

Repression: not just a coping tactic, but a lifestyle choice.

Speaking of things no one wanted to think about...

Jaina knocked on the doorframe, greeting him with a little smile. "Hi."

"Hi!" Anakin replied, beaming at her. "Come in."

[solo_sword]

"Isn't it break week?" she asked, taking her seat.

[sith_happened]

"Well, yes," Anakin admitted, "but I still have paperwork to do."

[solo_sword]

"Procrastinator," she teased.

[sith_happened]

"Paperwork," Anakin repeated. "So yeah. Who wants to do that on time?"

"Good point," Jaina conceded. "Still teaching this summer?"

Yes she wanted to know if he could top what she'd heard of last summer's class.

He nodded. "A class on childcare with Deadpool."

Because that would end well.

[solo_sword]

Jaina's eyes went so wide. "You do know childcare classes shouldn't end in bloodshed, right?"

Because she so saw a competition between the teachers starting week one...

"But if it does, we'll be sure to have some Dora band-aids."

Very helpful, Anakin.

"Make someone take pictures of this class so I can see," she decided.

She'd need laughs, come on.

"I will," Anakin said. "I think Jan is going through a phase where everyone has to dress up and have tea parties."

[solo_sword]

"Oh, good. The students will really love that," she said with a little smile.

Still glad she wasn't a student anymore.

[sith_happened]

"They better," Anakin decided. "How's home?"

[solo_sword]

There went the smile.

"Do you want the good news or the bad news first?"

[sith_happened]

Anakin took one look at her face and felt his heart stop for a second. "The good," he decided immediately.

"I got to come back for graduation."

She had had to find a bright side in this somewhere, okay?

Anakin watched her for a second before sighing and standing up.

"I have a feeling you could use a hug."

[solo_sword]

For as much as she was shielding these days, the relief was probably evident on her face at that. So she stood to hug him, saying, "Thanks."

Raven was still repressing about graduation herself. If she didn't think about it, it wasn't going to happen, right? Right?

She had more important things on her mind anyway. Normally she'd meditate to try to settle her mind, but after what had happened Tuesday, she was afraid to try.

"Professor Skywalker?" she said as she reached the door.

"Come in, Raven," Anakin replied, waving his hand.

Raven stepped inside the office. Since there was no sense in dancing around it, she didn't mince words. "I have seen my father," she said. "He is not dead."

Anakin thunked his head into his desk. "Fantastic. He's not invited for graduation."

After his moment of being a six year old had passed, he looked back up. "Are you all right?"

Sitting down tiredly, Raven nodded. "It was close, however," she admitted. "Somehow he pulled my mind to him while I was meditating. He does not have near the power he used to, he is very weak. But he still had enough to hold me there. If Cassidy had not realized something was wrong and woken me, I am not certain I would have been able to escape."

Trapped there forever. In that horrible outfit.

"We'll start working on increasing your mental shields again," Anakin declared immediately.
