Office hours [all day]

Anakin was in his office reviewing the final exams from his class with a slightly smug look on his face.

His office chair was much more comfortable now than it had been two weeks ago. Take that, Nothing.

He'd finish up his Christmas shopping in a few minutes. For now, he was going to spin (just once!) in his shiny new chair.

Zoe was aware that when celebrations occurred, there was usually an involvement of cake. However, Zoe also knew the staff of this school, which was why Anakin would find a bottle outside of his office instead, with a note tied to the neck that said:

Thank you for helping to keep the students safe last week. Even the ones we don't particularly like.

Now that everything seemed back to normal -- well, as normal as things were for her -- Leia finally was getting in touch with Anakin. She'd needed a few days to make certain everything was where she remembered it, and she wasn't entirely convinced it hadn't been some bizarre dream.

"Oh, thank the Force," Anakin said when he saw the number. "You're all right?"

"Did my message get through to you?" Leia said, relieved as well to hear his voice. She wasn't sure just how much had disappeared or come back. "What happened?"

"Someone tried to erase the entire universe," Anakin said, running his hand through his hair. "Came pretty close to doing it here, too."

"That must've been what was happening here," Leia said. "People were just vanishing, but no one remembered them but me. One minute Luke was there and the next Wedge Antilles blew up the Death Star."

Anakin snickered. "In Luke's world, you married Wedge. Maybe you should consider him an option?"

"At least he's not a scruffy-looking scoundrel," Leia snorted. "But he's not quite my type."

Said scruffy-looking scoundrels, on the other hand....

"You don't like cocky Corellian fighter pilots?"

Keep dreaming, Anakin.

"He's an excellent pilot and a close friend of Luke's, but I don't have any time for thoughts like that even if I did find him attractive," Leia said.

Really, she was going to keep telling herself that.

"Good," Anakin said. "There's no harm in waiting ten or even twenty years to date someone."

[likes_scoundrels]

"Exactly," Leia said. "And in the meantime, there's just sex."

She only said that to make him flail.

"LEIA!"

Leia burst out laughing. "Relax," she said. "It's not like I have time for that, either." Her tone grew more sober. "I barely have time to eat or sleep. Sometimes I almost forget until Luke reminds me."

He was taking brotherly duties very seriously.

"I'm glad Luke's watching out for you," Anakin said, smiling.

[likes_scoundrels]

"He is," Leia said fondly.

"We're settling into a new base for the Alliance," she went on. "A planet called Hoth."

[sith_happened]

"Pack lots of layers," Anakin said. "It's insanely cold there."

[likes_scoundrels]

"So I've heard," Leia said. She really wasn't looking forward to it.

"You've been there?"

[sith_happened]

"Years and years ago," Anakin hedged. "Very briefly."

[likes_scoundrels]

"I just hope it's a place we can stay safe for awhile," Leia said. "We've had too many close calls with the Empire lately."

He could probably hear the smile in her voice as she added, "I don't suppose you'll give me any hints, will you?"

Please, she had to ask.

"Sorry," Anakin said, smiling in reply. "That's cheating."
