Office hours [all day]

Anakin was in his office surrounded by droid babies. He was tweaking their programming for this year so that they would be able to crawl.

Because babies that just sat around and cried were far too easy.

He was humming a bit under his breath. Sometimes Anakin wasn't as far away from the Dark Side as he liked to believe.

The door was open!

When Jaina saw it was office hours day, her first instinct was to call. She'd suppressed that for a while. After all, she thought it was better to start taking some steps back from people.

Obviously that taking steps back thing wasn't going so well.

It also meant that by the time she decided she could allow herself to check in since it'd been over a month for her, she didn't have a ton of time to talk, but look, she was calling like a good granddaughter. Albeit one with issues.

"Skywalker," Anakin said, picking up his comlink and sounding slightly distracted.

A dozen crawling droids would do that.

"Did I call at a bad time?" she asked. What with the distraction and all.

[sith_happened]

"Jaina! No, not at all. I'm just modifying the droid babies," Anakin replied. "They can crawl now."

Mwhahaha.

[solo_sword]

"...Do you hate your students?" she asked.

[sith_happened]

"Not at all," Anakin said. "They just are too used to the way things normally work. I don't want them to be bored by this assignment."

[solo_sword]

"I'd say they will definitely not be bored now," Jaina decided. "Though I have to say I'm glad I had your class before you started getting creative." Back when she could push it off on Gavin because she'd been half-blind and issueful.

[sith_happened]

Anakin chuckled. "This will give them different moral issues to wrestle with, like how it's wrong to tranquilize your child."

[solo_sword]

"But is it wrong to put a restraining bolt on them?" YES SHE WAS KIDDING.

[sith_happened]

"Yes," Anakin decided after a pause for slightly too long.

[solo_sword]

"Don't think I didn't catch that pause," she said, sounding amused.

[sith_happened]

"Shush," Anakin said, still sounding amused. "How are you?"

[solo_sword]

"I'm okay. I've got to start prepping my X-wing to get back to Coruscant soon, but I wanted to make sure I checked in," she said. "How are you doing?"

[trigons_child]

Raven had been bad about keeping up with her visits to Anakin, but she had a lot on her mind now, and the anger still bubbling within her was giving her cause to worry. She didn't fear she was going to lose control, but feeling it so strongly was less than comfortable.

"Good morning, Professor Skywalker," she began to say, then stopped short and stared at the droid babies. And for the first and only time said a silent prayer of thanks to Azar that she'd already taken Ethics.

"Good morning," Anakin replied, reaching into the Force to nudge one of the babies away from the door. "They're trying to make an escape."

That boded well for his class.

[trigons_child]

"You are making your class much more challenging," Raven said, watching for robobabies as she stepped into the office. At least they couldn't teleport?

[sith_happened]

"It needs to be mixed up every now and then," Anakin replied. "Life doesn't stay still either."

[trigons_child]

"It does not," Raven agreed, taking a seat. "I remember this assignment from when I took your class." Far too long ago it felt like. "I struggled somewhat because I could not sense any emotions from the droid baby so I would know what she required."

So, like a normal person.

[sith_happened]

"Most people don't get that shortcut," Anakin said with a grin. "It drove Rory crazy when she couldn't figure out why Juliet was crying."

[trigons_child]

"I will be happy to 'cheat' in such a way should I ever experience motherhood," Raven said with a tiny smile. Empathy would come in verrrry handy that way.

[sith_happened]

"I've done it myself," Anakin admitted. "How are you today?"

[trigons_child]

"I am struggling," Raven admitted, folding her hands in her lap. "I have very strong feelings of anger and guilt, and I am having trouble dispelling them."

[sith_happened]

"What are you feeling angry about?" Anakin asked.

[trigons_child]

"Have you heard on the radio that Jono is back on the island?" Raven said quietly. "He has been through a great deal, for time moved much faster for him than for us here. He has been hurt, and part of me sorely wishes to find those responsible and punish them."

[sith_happened]

"Understandable when people we love have been injured," Anakin said with a nod, "but something that we must learn to move past. Does he want you to enact any revenge?"
