Anakin was on his computer today, typing up and sending out what he felt to be a Very Important email. It had been two weeks, after all, since Jamie Madrox had joined the faculty, and he was sure that he wasn't the only teacher feeling driven to drink.

Katniss had been back for two weeks now, and while she'd left her room for classes, she hadn't done much more, as far as socializing went.

And she knew, more than anything, that people were worried about her. That was finally starting to dawn on her.

She rapped lightly on the edge of Anakin's doorframe, arms crossed around herself. Maybe he would be too busy for her, and she could go back to her room and sleep some more.

Anakin glanced up at the door and smiled. "Katniss. Come in."

Katniss shuffled in, carefully closing the door behind her. "Hello."

This was her being chatty.

"Hello," Anakin replied softly. "Would you like to sit down?"

The chair was situated so that she could still see the exit--Anakin knew a bit about not wanting to leave your back open.

Katniss crept over and carefully curled up in the chair, glancing at Anakin.

"I like your class."

It seemed like a thing to say.

"I'm glad," he said. "It's not exactly learning about friendship via a pink pony, but I hope it helps students a little."

"It's a little too familiar sometimes," she said softly, tucking her knees against her chest.

Anakin nodded. "I worry a bit about that. For every student who rolls their eyes at the implausibility of the question, there's another that has gone through the exact situation. Are you all right so far?"

She shrugged. "I didn't like the first day."

He obviously knew why.

"How have you been doing?" he asked. "I didn't think I'd see you back here."

"Wesley made me," she said quietly. "I'm...well. I'm alive. I killed the president and I'm alive. That's something, right?"

"That was also I wasn't sure would be true," Anakin admitted softly. "Why did they let you go?"

"I have no idea," she said quietly. "I just...Haymitch told me to remember who the enemy was. She wanted to make another Hunger Games, with Capitol children."

"That's what the meeting with the Tributes was about," Anakin guessed.
