After several weeks away, Anakin was back in his office working on the syllabus for his class next week and trying to put some of the more horrifying moments of Panem out of his mind.

He was more successful at one task than the other. The door was open.

Three years in Fandom and Tahiri still didn't really believe in conversational segues, so when she made her way down to Anakin's office and stopped in the doorway the first thing out of her mouth was, "Oh, thank the Force, you're back."

Anakin gave her a slightly tired smile. "How did the last few classes go? I didn't think I'd be away so long."

"They went all right," Tahiri assured him. "Jaina told me a little bit about what happened, and I'm just glad you're back."

She wasn't going to press him for details; in between the way he looked and what Jaina had told her, there didn't seem to be much point in asking him to rehash just how bad it had been.

"I was starting to worry I wouldn't get a chance to say goodbye before I have to go."

"You're going?" Anakin looked disappointed. "I dislike this time of year."

"I get the sense there aren't many people enjoying this week much." Tahiri gave him a crooked little half-smile. "Not until tomorrow, and I'm hardly thrilled about it, but I can't stay forever, can I?"

Anakin probably should have been expecting this call, because for about three weeks GFFA time Jaina had been wondering whether she could check up on things yet. Today was just the day she'd broken down and actually made the call.

"Skywalker," Anakin replied, settling back in his chair.

[solo_sword]

"It's me," Jaina greeted him. "Are you home yet?" Because if he was still in Thirteen, there were probably better times for this call.

"I'm home," Anakin said. "I left after Katniss shot Coin."

[solo_sword]

...She'd definitely left too early.

"Wait, what?"

And then from outside the office was a man in a black suit and sunglasses.

"Mr. Skywalker," K said with a slight elongation of Anakin's name. "I have a package you need to sign for."

Why was Anakin getting a bad feeling all of the sudden?

"All right," he said slightly warily, getting a pen from his desk.

"I'll also need to see some identification, if you don't mind," K said as he placed the package on the desk and pulled out his clipboard.

K's tone also indicated that if Anakin did mind about showing some identification that K wouldn't put up with that kind of attitude.

Or K was just in a cranky mood. Hard to tell.

After so many years of being recognized on sight, Anakin was faintly amused to be asked for ID.

He pulled it from his robe--a very normal-looking DC driver's license that he had not stood in line for at the DMV because he had mind-control powers and was not spending three hours waiting in uncomfortable chairs when he didn't have to--and held it out.

"Thank you, Mr. Skywalker," K said taking the ID and only giving it a cursory glance before handing it back. "Now if you will please sign stating that you have accepted delivery this package is now yours."

He then placed the package on a more central place on his desk. The package was a plain brown wrapper that looked rather weathered. The return address label was a bit faded and the only legible part of it read "Sunagakure".

"There you are," Leia said from the doorway. "I was wondering if you were going to be back to before I had to leave."

She would've been upset if he hadn't. And no, she didn't feel guilty at all about starting a fight with him while she'd been infected.

"Yes, there was a small...war...that I had to help with," Anakin said. "You're not leaving today, are you?"

"Tomorrow," Leia said reluctantly. "That's when the graduates have to be off the island, isn't it?"

[sith_happened]

"Yes," Anakin said sadly. "But you could move in with Rory and I!"

What a brilliant plan he'd just thought up!

"I don't have to go home immediately," Leia admitted. "But I have to go back eventually. Soon." She was tired of getting reports from afar on the state of the Rebellion; she wanted to get back and be directly involved.

And make sure her brother didn't do anything to get himself in trouble.

Karla had come back long enough to say goodbye to Emma, but upon noticing Anakin's psychic scent was back on the island, she detoured to his office. She had a little bit of time before her portal home and if Anakin had come back from Panem, then he would know...well, he would know whatever needed to be known.

She hesitated outside his office for a moment, only deciding to knock because he'd know she was there anyway. "Kiss kiss," she said quietly, her heart not really in the greeting.

But, if nothing else, habit was a useful thing to fall back on.

"Karla," he said, nodding his head at her. "Come in."

Karla slipped inside, trying not to look as ill-at-ease as she felt. Sure, he could feel it in the Force, but hadn't she just had a lesson in composure dealing with Lanfaeran?

"Is it done?" she asked. She remained standing, her hands on the back of a chair. Her white knuckles were the only outward sign of her inner turmoil. "Is Coin--?"

"Dead," Anakin replied, nodding. "Katniss killed her."

He didn't sound the least bit upset about it.

"Good."

Funny enough, neither did Karla.

"She was just another Snow, waiting for her opportunity." She'd sacrificed children and her own medics. She'd needed to be put down.

"And Katniss?"
