There was a ridiculous sort of awkwardness to the fact that Jaina was here from so far away, that she hadn't known Katniss for very long at all, having only met her when she was a bubbly six-year-old with an owl talking about this very event and how she was named after a flower. And there wasn't anything she could do from here. She couldn't even offer hugs to anyone who needed it.
Which would be why when she did speak, it was a quiet, "I'm finishing up this assignment and I'll be there as soon as I can."
