Anakin's office [all day, all night...]
Anakin thought he'd been prepared to watch the Games, to help his students through such...blatent savagry...but he was fearing that he was getting close to the end of his endurance. Mags, Cecelia at the very beginning (she'd had three children, just like him...), it was all impressed in Anakin's mind, along with the faces of the other tributes as they'd been projected into the sky.
In the fifteen minutes he'd stolen to sleep in his office chair, he'd been haunted by seeing his own dead projected in the same way: Obi-Wan, Padme, Ahsoka, a slew of generals and admirals he'd killed in a rage...the faces had seemed to go on forever and he'd woken in a cold sweat completely unrefreshed.
He took a moment to step out of the room, carefully navigating through sleeping students, and called his wife, his never-fail cure for feeling a little more balanced. Then he ran through a quick Jedi meditation, took a deep breath, squared his shoulders and went back into his office.
Day two was about to begin.

Wake up/Arrive!
Re: Wake up/Arrive!
Re: Wake up/Arrive!
So little tiny blue Jaina was back for as long as she could be.
Re: Wake up/Arrive!
Re: Wake up/Arrive!
After waking, she slipped out to the restroom long enough to freshen up, then came back and set out fresh ink and parchment for chronicling the new horrors today's broadcast was sure to bring.
Re: Wake up/Arrive!
Of course, the odds of someone getting hurt badly and not just dying were slim, but she was clinging to the slim possibility because this way she didn't feel completely useless.
She woke up a little before people started showing back up and slipped out to take a hot shower and change. Karla had the sinking feeling that a decent shower was going to be the best part of the whole day.

She was back before dawn, as freshened up as she could hope to be, and with coffee from the Perk and pastries from J,GOB. She wasn't sure anyone would have the stomach for either, but it seemed like it couldn't hurt.

No, he hadn't slept.
Hmmm, salt water...
Re: Hmmm, salt water...
"The water," she said, feeling only a little foolish since the one person who needed that information would not actually be able to hear her. "She should go in it."

"Good for you," he murmured, under his breath.
Wiress Stopped Tick-Tocking
Re: Wiress Stopped Tick-Tocking
"Oh fuck," Luke said, leaning forward into his chair. "They need to move, right now. They're not alone out there."
If he thought shouting "Look behind you!" would have done anything, he would have done it.

OH SHIT PRIM IS SCREAMING
Re: OH SHIT PRIM IS SCREAMING
Those bastards took Katniss's sister. They took her and now they were making her scream.
"Oh no," she moaned. "No, no, nooo. Katniss, no. It's some kind of trap."
But what else could Katniss do? Sit there and let them continue to torture her sister?

Wait, no...
Re: Wait, no...
Gabrielle wasn't a scout. She wasn't as agile or at home in the trees as most of her Amazon sisters were, but one of the conditions of her accepting Terreis's Rite of Caste was that she receive a fast but intensive lesson in the tribe's ways. And one of the Amazon scouts' methods of communicating was to imitate bird calls.
More than that, they used those bird calls as bait sometimes, to lure unsuspecting intruders away from the village --
"Jabberjays!" she burst out, nearly knocking over her inkwell when the realization hit her. "It's not really her sister; the Capitol's using jabberjays to play with their heads!"

Afterwards
Re: Afterwards
But he was way too busy hiding behind his own wings and willing himself not to cry to be proud of himself for that.
Too much. The screams and the pain and the death. The waiting. All of this was just too damn much. And they called it a game.
