Anakin's office [from noon onwards]

Anakin had spent the morning over at the Trooper Station interrogating interrogating his new staff: since he'd worked with various clones before (and was uniquely aware of their more...esoteric programming), he'd spent time with each one individually, asking about their duties at the Trooper Station, their thoughts about Fandom, and what happened if he said "Implement Order 66."

Turned out, nothing, but it was worth checking.

He went over to his office at the school around lunchtime, flipped on the link to Katniss's world (a habit he'd gotten into since she'd left), and was getting ready to write down his impressions about yesterday's class when he realized that he wasn't listening to the usual noises from Panem.

He was tuned into the Reaping. District 9, it looked like. Cursing under his breath, Anakin reached into a desk drawer and began leaving handwavey messages for the list of people Katniss had left for him to talk to.

From his spot behind his desk, he reached out through the Force to close the door. Today's office hours were by invitation only.

All of this still left a bitter taste in Warren's mouth. It was only just beginning, but he knew how Katniss expected for it to end, and just because she had assured him that it was the only way...

He didn't feel any better about it.

Warren was holding his breath as he knocked at the door.

Warren hesitated for a moment, as if maybe just lingering at the door a moment more would mean that someone would call through it to go, 'Hah, just kidding, false alarm,' and then he could take off in the opposite direction at a run or something.

Yeah. That would be nice.

When nothing happened after that moment, Warren frowned, and then stepped into the office.

"Hey." He really didn't know what else to say. He pulled the door shut behind himself, and then fidgeted a little until he managed to work up words. "They took her?"

"Oh." Warren's eyes hit the floor. "That's not really much better."

It meant that he hadn't missed anything yet, mostly. It didn't change the heavy weight that seemed to have settled over him.

Warren's teeth grit a little as he looked up to watch, as well. He wasn't quite so keen as Anakin when it came to figuring out how these people would fare against her, but he knew well enough that they were all fighting to survive in there. Just toughing it out for as long as she needed to wasn't going to be easy by any means.

"Watching and waiting," he murmured. He hated that. That all he could really do was watch and wait.
