Office hours [all day]

After an early morning spar with. Ben, Anakin was in the office preparing to work on his lesson for next week.

Since it was about wrath, Anakin was getting himself nice and annoyed by reading parenting websites.

The door was open!

It was always fun to get any whiff of annoyance from this particular office. "Is this a bad time?" Jaina asked from the doorway.

"People are idiots who can't spell," Anakin declared, glaring at his screen.

"Aha, someone's on the Internet," Jaina grinned, taking her seat.

[sith_happened]

"Yes," Anakin replied. "Parenting websites. I stumbled into the allergies section where someone has decided their child has a Constitutional right to a peanut butter sandwich, even though it will kill the kid next to him. Two parents are telling each other to fall into a pool and die."

Wow. When she'd finished staring, she asked, "And you're doing this to yourself why?"

"The class on Thursday is about wrath and forgiveness," Anakin said with a small smile. "I figured this was a healthier outlet than some I've tried."

"Not a bad idea," she said approvingly. "Since there's apparently no better way to inspire wrath than to give anonymity while talking to faceless people you'll never meet." There was a reason Jaina didn't use the net much.

After getting bored of his son's game, John wandered down the hall and found someone familiar. "Hey, old man. You look positively cheerful today."

"John!" Anakin replied, grinning. "I'm ignoring the old man part."

"Isn't it true?" John asked, wandering in and smirking. "I mean, how old are you now? Fifty? Sixty three?"

"Twenty-seven," he said.

"Riiiiight," John said, flopping down in a chair. "And how does it feel to be a twenty seven year old in these chaotic times?"

"Depressed for the future," Anakin said. "It seems to be a bleak place where no one can spell."

Squall stepped into Master Skywalker's office and shut the door behind him purposefully. "May I speak with you?"

The question was informal, and Squall was clearly worried about something, but his manner was much more direct than one would expect of a student coming to ask advice.

"Of course," Anakin said, glancing away from his computer screen immediately. "How can I help you?"

"Privacy is important, and I appreciate that," Squall told him. "People come to you for advice and help, and trust you not to tell anyone about it."

He hadn't mentioned Rinoa's name, and he wasn't going to. That would make it easier to lie to her about it if she asked.

Anakin nodded slowly. "The stories I hear are no one's business but the student's and mine."

Squall nodded. "Good." The man was an Ethics teacher, after all, and someone that Squall respected.

"But sometimes a student's personal problems have very bad consequences, which they might or might not have told you about. Sometimes a whole universe is at stake, for example. If for whatever reason your help starts to become less effective, action will eventually need to be taken."

He paused to let that sink in.

Anakin's eyes narrowed a bit. "What sort of action?"

Long experience in Fandom had him add, "And how old will he be?"
