Office hours [all day]
They weren't being held under a beach umbrella today and they were sadly lacking in fruity and alcoholic beverages, but Anakin's office hours were back on schedule. Today he was clearing out his email from all of the junk that had accumulated there over the week.
His life was both dramatic and thrilling, it was true.
The door was open.
His life was both dramatic and thrilling, it was true.
The door was open.

"Here," he said, holding it out.

"Skywalker," he commented as he handed the ID back. "Native American?"

She had promised Raven she would come and talk to him. Maybe he could help. Maybe no one could. Maybe this was hopeless. Maybe she was imagining all of it to start. Maybe Sookie would tell Squall who would tell Quistis who would call Esthar who would send someone for her. She had been so stupid. This was all her fault. And --
And the rational part of her mind knew that standing in the hallway and panicking was not actually going to help anything. It also knew that she couldn't do this alone. She had to trust someone. It couldn't be Squall, for this. Professor Skywalker seemed like a good choice.
Rinoa reached up and played with the rings on her necklace, hoping her mother might somehow stay close. And then she stepped into his doorway, clearing her throat and trying to somehow look composed.
"Hi," she said, uncertainly. "Do you ... have a minute?"

'This,' in this case, being the door. She hesitated as her hand reached the handle, not pulling it just yet.
"You ... you said in class that ... that people never come to teachers with things, and that they should. That if it's something big someone should ... should go to a teacher and ... and ask for help if they can't handle it. So I'm ... and people said I should come to you, too, I mean, Raven did, but I'm ..."
Scared. Terrified. It was taking most of her composure not to run.
Staying meant telling him, and telling him meant it was real.

NFB from here, please?
With that, she shut the door and made her way over to a seat. She stared at his desk for a few long seconds, composing her thoughts, her hands resting just above her knees.
"Someone is in my head," she said. It sounded so stark, said like that. "My shields are holding her out, but they're weakening. I've been trying to pretend it's not happening, but it's getting worse and I don't think I can any more."
That wasn't the beginning, exactly, but that was the most important bit, and the rest might take a while, so it seemed like it should go first.
Re: NFB from here, please?
"Who's there and how powerful are they?" he asked calmly.

and her notebook of sekrit sekrit fanficwas in a fairly good mood when she arrived at Anakin's office that morning. The vacation had been relaxing, and nothing awful had happened recently. It probably wouldn't last, but for now she'd enjoy it."Good morning, Professor Skywalker," she said.

It was like he could pick up on emotions or something.

Anakin occasionally thought he was hilarious.
