After lightsaber practice with Ben, where Anakin had thumped his grandson around the gym because the boy wouldn't stop smirking about the weekend's sparring session with Luke, Anakin hobbled stalked slowly (stupid knee injury) back to his office.

He'd listened to his messages, so he was a little anxious to see if Raven came in today.

The door was open. The Jedi was grumpy. Just an average Tuesday.

Of course there was a Raven. She just wasn't her happy bouncy self when she arrived at Anakin's office. Actually, if she were happy and bouncy, it would probably be cause for alarm.

"Good morning, Professor Skywalker," she began, then frowned. "You are injured."

Anakin nodded. "And I'm leaving it like this to teach myself a lesson about pride," he said ruefully.

"Then you would not accept if I offered to heal you," Raven said.

"Thank you," Anakin said with a smile, "but I could heal it myself if it were too painful. It's a reminder that I still need to practice. I'm not always as good as I think I am."

"How did it happen?" Raven asked curiously. "Was it fighting -- or sport?"

"A little bit of both," Anakin replied. "Ben's father was in town this weekend. I had to see how good Jedi were in his future. The answer seems to be 'not bad'."

Luke had beaten Anakin. That was a little bit better than 'not bad.'

Raven, of course, was certain Anakin had left Luke in much worse condition.

"Time travel and alternate dimensions must make for interesting family reunions," she said.

"That's understating it a bit," Anakin said wryly. "Fortunately, I only met a few of the numerous people from my galaxy who were running around this weekend."

"I was not expecting any visitors," Raven said. "But...there was one who arrived who knew who I was."

"Tell me about him," Anakin replied, fixing his eyes on hers.

"He knew my name," Raven said. "And he knew who my father was. He said I had been promised to him, and when I refused to leave Fandom with him...." She shook her head. "I do not know what he did, but I began to believe everything he said. I wanted to go with him."

Anakin frowned. "He got inside your head," he said, absolutely sure of it, and feeling a little guilty for having left Raven exposed to that kind of manipulation. "We'll have to work on that more vigorously. But you're here now, so his plan failed. How?"

"I was still myself enough that I wished to say goodbye to my friends," Raven said. "And he allowed me that. I think perhaps he was overly confident that no one could stop him, for he seemed very arrogant. Joan realized immediately that something was wrong, and she and another student, George, were able to help me. He attempted to control George as he did me, but he was unsuccessful." She frowned in memory, trying to recall exactly what had happened. Her memories were still somewhat fuzzy due to the conflict between what had actually occurred and what Sebastian had wanted her to believe. "I do not think he was a vampire, but he attempted to bite Joan."

Anakin's expression clearly asked "what the hell was wrong with that guy?" but he only commented, "I see" aloud. "What did the man look like?"

Just in case Anakin ever ran into him. Armed.

"He was young, my age," Raven said. Calling his face to mind made her tense. "I thought at first he was a student here. His skin was very pale, and his hair was almost white. He told me his name was Sebastian, Sebastian Blood. I know it almost sounds as if he were a vampire, but he was alive, I am certain of it."

"Maybe a different variety then we've seen before," Anakin mused. "I'll keep an eye out, though he shouldn't be able to get back to the island without permission."

Hayley bounced into the office, seemingly unburdened by the stress and distress she'd been suffering of late.

"Hi Master Skywalker," she said.

Jaina didn't really want to come down here, but after talking to John, she figured not showing would be the coward's way out. "Okay, whatever you have to say after the weekend, let's get it over with."

Hello to you too, Jaina.

Add another girl to the conga line!. "Hello, Miss Fitzpatrick," Anakin replied. "How was your weekend?"

"He mentioned taking me to his church," Raven said. She was putting on a good show of controlling her fear and not letting it show. "My father first came to my mother in a church. I do not know if they are the same, but if he knows who my father is...." Her voice grew more shaky. "He said he would return for me. I do not want him to be able to cloud my mind so easily again."

"Hello to you, too, Jaina," Anakin replied, giving her a bit of a look.

Hayley didn't even flinch. "Oh, it was pretty terrible," Hayley said. "But I'm just gonna try and ignore it all. It's working good."

She'd saved her training till later, knowing she'd probably need to hit something later. "Hi. Now let's hear it," she said, taking a seat.

Anakin sent a wave of reassurance through the Force toward her. "We'll work on that," he promised.

When the patriarch of the repression family gives you a look like that, you might be in trouble. "Ignoring something unpleasant only works for so long," Anakin pointed out.
