Office hours [all day]

After leaving a message for Ben, Anakin was parked in the center of his office surrounded by pieces of metal.

He was making one heck of a complicated baby toy for a Force-sensitive baby.

He hadn't decided if it would be going to little Ben or Baby Skywalker yet.

The door was wide open.

"Major. I have a few more promotions to go before Commander," she replied.

"Still," Anakin said, grinning, "that's a major achievement."

Beat.

"Pun not intended."

[solo_sword]

"You know, I don't think I believe that," she admitted. Look, it meant she was giving him credit for being able to make a joke on purpose.

[sith_happened]

"Rory might've worn off on me," Anakin admitted.

[solo_sword]

"When it comes to punning, I think that needs to stop," she decided.

[sith_happened]

"Half the people in this school wouldn't believe you if you said I'd made a joke anyway," Anakin teased.

[solo_sword]

"Yeah, but I know. That's enough."

[sith_happened]

"I'll go back to being completely humorless as soon as possible, then," he said.

Ignore the smile.

[solo_sword]

"As is good and right. I hear there were tiny Ewoks," she said.

[sith_happened]

"There were," Anakin said. "Rory now wants an Ewok nanny."

[solo_sword]

"Sure, if you want the kid to speak in nothing but 'yub' and 'nub' to talk about you behind your backs." She so would have done that as a kid.

[sith_happened]

"I could learn Ewok," Anakin said.

[solo_sword]

Jaina opened her mouth to tell him that was ridiculous... but found that that very reason made her say, "It's worth a shot."

[sith_happened]

"Did you have a non-Threepio nanny?" Anakin asked.

[solo_sword]

"Winter," she nodded. "Though Chewbacca had about as much part in raising us our parents did."

[sith_happened]

"Somehow I think a Wookiee would be a hard sell," Anakin said with a small smile.

[solo_sword]

"He was good," she shrugged.

[sith_happened]

"I'm sure he was," Anakin said. "I'm just not sure we can fit Rory, me, a baby, Vladdie, Bertie and a Wookiee in a two bedroom apartment."

[solo_sword]

"You might not be trying hard enough. Two adults, three kids, a Wookiee and a Threepio could fit on the Falcon easily."

Jaina didn't always realize how spoiled she was, and that the Falcon was sort of bigger than your standard apartment.

Anakin laughed. "You haven't seen this apartment, my Jaina. Rory's books take up most of the space."
