Office hours [all day]

Anakin opened his office door.

And stared.

Someone had redecorated.

Anakin stomped around the office examining streamers on the ceiling and paint on the wall, then the glitter-bestrewned Farrah Fawcett poster, and finally flounced over to sit in his chair.

With its pink boa.

He waved a hand and started up his little galaxy of stars, then picked up a pen that had been decorated with feathers--all of his pens had been decorated with feathers, what the hell?--and hoped no one visited today.

Though that didn't seem very likely.

"It's okay. You didn't know. Not that many people do, it happened so quickly," Isabel explained. "As for how I'm going? I've got good friends. They've been looking out for me, so it helps."

Anakin nodded. "If you need another friend looking out for you, count me in," he said quietly. "It's been a while, but I've been where you are. War is a terrible thing -- nothing you could tell me would scare me."

"Thanks. Honestly the worse part is just knowing I have to go back," she said, her face making clear just how much she was looking forward to it. "This, being here, is like a dream sometimes. But Max and Michael are still there, and once the time thing gets worked, I owe it to them to find a way back."

And the conversation with Greg suddenly had context.

"I definitely know that feeling," Anakin said softly. "I once endangered an entire solar system rescuing Obi-Wan. It worked, but the planning could've been better."

"I don't think I'll go to that extreme," Isabel replied, trying to act casual. "But no matter how bad it is, it's always been the three of us. I'm not going to change that now."

Anakin nodded. "When the time comes, run your plan past me?" he asked. "I might spot some holes."

He knew better than to stop her from going.
