Did it matter that there weren't classes right now? It did not.

What mattered is that Anakin was the only Skywalker on Earth with knowledge of today's date, which, thanks to Ben's relentless trolling over the years had now been permanently imprinted into his brain. So one after another, each member of his home galaxy call from Anakin that began with, "May the Fourth be with you!"

Cade in particular was completely unamused by this. "I'm in the middle of a firefight, for kriff's sake!" he shouted before disconnecting (but not without Anakin yelling back, "STOP SHIPPING SPICE").

All in all, not a terrible way to spend a Monday.

Jaina's call was answered with a long, long sigh and a, "Grandfather."

You'd think she'd be used to this.

Anakin burst out laughing. "Ben wore me down."

[solo_sword]

"So now you're beating him to it?" Was she getting two calls today? Because she was expecting it!

[sith_happened]

"Plus he doesn't know it's May here," Anakin said.

You were definitely getting two calls, Jaina.

[solo_sword]

"Like he doesn't have an alert set up," Jaina said.

[sith_happened]

"That is an excellent point," Anakin admitted. "He's really invested in this terrible pun."

[solo_sword]

"Which until now I'd blamed on Mara's side."

She had not. She'd met the Skywalker men.

And she'd grown up with Jacen.

[sith_happened]

"As you should," said poor delusional Anakin.

[solo_sword]

"And you... picked it up from him?" she said.

[sith_happened]

"Yes," Anakin proclaimed. "Ben is very persistent."

[solo_sword]

"Uh Huh. Did you beat him to it this year?" Jaina wondered.

[sith_happened]

"I did," Anakin said smugly.

This would only lead to tears and earlier and earlier calls.

Yes, Jaina was realizing how this was all going to go.

"Well, this is gonna end in tears." And her putting her phone on Do Not Disturb.

[sith_happened]

"As long as they're Ben's," Anakin, loving grandfather, said.

[solo_sword]

"I'm gonna let you two battle that one out," Jaina decided. "And how are you celebrating this day?"

[sith_happened]

"Other than driving my relatives a little bit insane?" Anakin said, smiling. "Probably with lightsaber practice."

[solo_sword]

"Definitely worthy of your time. You could probably use it."

That was what you got for this call, Anakin.

"Hey!"

Anakin was so easy.

[solo_sword]

So much.

"I'm just saying, you should keep your skills sharp."

[sith_happened]

"I am!" Anakin protested. "I'm sparring with Rey so she's ready to face Kylo Ren. Which is a stupid name."

[solo_sword]

"Less confusing than 'Ben,' though."

And it wasn't a Darth name, so he had one up on say, Jacen.

[sith_happened]

"I am positive that Ben has never once called anyone to wish them a happy day based on a pun," Anakin said.

[solo_sword]

"Agreed. He still can't be Ben," she said.

[sith_happened]

"But the other name is dumb too," Anakin said. "We should call him something else."

[solo_sword]

"I'm scared to ask what your suggestion is," Jaina said.
