Office hours [all day]

Anakin was in his office as usual today, scouring websites for an idea of something he could bring to Thanksgiving dinner (or dinners--visiting Rory's family always got a little interesting at the holidays).

So far, he was settling on wine since he couldn't cook, or cookies, since he still suffered under the delusion that he could bake.

The door was open.

"Care to explain the phone calls?" Leia said as she walked into the office. God, Dad.

"Care to explain why you chose Max of all teachers at this school to spend time with?" Anakin countered, glaring.

[likes_scoundrels]

"What?" Leia said, crossing her arms and wondering just what the issue was. "He came into the salle and offered to give me some pointers. He doesn't look like General Kenobi and I'm not trying to date him, so what is your problem?"

Anakin opened his mouth, reminded himself that using curse words to describe another member of the faculty was unprofessional, and ended up with the very lame, "I don't like him."

"I've taken one of his classes," Leia said. Not that she had thought much of the subject matter. "I don't have a problem with him. And he gave me a good workout."

[sith_happened]

He really didn't like that. "How so?" he asked tightly.

[likes_scoundrels]

"I wanted to know the best way to deal with someone like him," Leia said with a shrug. "How to take him down."

[sith_happened]

"Sniper rifle from atop a building," Anakin muttered. "Barring that, a push off a cliff."

[likes_scoundrels]

"You sound like you've thought about this," Leia said, unable to hide a smirk. She was curious now to know just what the history was between Max and her father. "I already know I could shoot him. But I want to know what to do if I'm trapped and unarmed."

Or chained to a Hutt.

Anakin bit back "you'll get mouthy" because he wasn't supposed to know that. "Solar plexus," he said. "Instep. Nose. Groin. Pick a combination. It's when they aren't human that things get complicated."

"I thought some hands on training would be useful," Leia pointed out. "It's one thing to know it, it's another to actually do it."

[sith_happened]

"Pick a different teacher," Anakin replied. "Aly or Ghanima or Zoe--"

Yes, he'd be there all day listing the entire faculty directory if she didn't stop him.

All women. That didn't escape Leia's notice.

"Is this because he's a man?" she said. "He didn't lay a hand on me other than what I asked him to do."

[sith_happened]

"No, it's because he's a very specific type of man," Anakin said. "The kind who make fathers think of sniper rifles and very deep tar pits."

Leia rolled her eyes. "He's just teaching me how to defend myself. The flirting was just because of what the island was doing."

That wasn't going to defuse your father, Leia.

"THERE WAS FLIRTING?!!!!"

Inside voice, Anakin.

"It was harmless," Leia said with a dismissive wave of her hand. "He asked me how I might distract someone so I could find a way to escape."

[sith_happened]

"..."

"..."

"...LEIA!"

[likes_scoundrels]

"...what?" Leia said. "I was a little embarrassed about it Monday but it's not like anything happened. He was professional about it."

[sith_happened]

Anakin's head hit the desk with a thunk. "Don't." Thunk. "Hit." Thunk. "On Teachers."

Thunk.

"I don't make a habit of it!" Leia protested. "I wasn't entirely myself last week."

[sith_happened]

He sighed heavily. "You're not planning to repeat this exercise, then."

[likes_scoundrels]

"Actually, he's offered to meet with me every week to train me," Leia said.

Wait for it...three...two...one....

[sith_happened]

"Absolutely not."

[likes_scoundrels]

"Just how are you going to stop me?" Leia challenged. GOD.
